Maiden Voyage of our new Hi-Tech Marine Trailer

Thursday, July 6th, 2006

IMG_3553.jpgWe hauled out our Regal 2760 for the 1st time on our new Hi-Tech Marine aluminum trailer. The day was as uneventfull as we could expect for handling such a large boat at the ramp and around town.

Albany Yacht Club Runaway Dock - It Doesn’t Take a Hurricane to Ruin Your Day

Monday, July 3rd, 2006

Proof that it doesn’t take a hurricane to ruin a lot of boats.

Just before noon on Thursday, the club’s dock, on the Hudson River, broke free and drifted downstream in the fast-moving waters of the Hudson River. Attached to the dock: millions of dollars in luxury yachts. Crews are frantically working right now to capture the yachts as the float freely down the river. A gas pump attached to the dock also broke free. “

Likely World Record Hammerhead Caught off Boca Grande

Saturday, July 1st, 2006

As reported in at Saltwatersportsman.com a likely world record hammerhead was near Boca Grande, Florida about 12 miles offshore. Weighing in at 1280lbs and a whopping 14 1/2 feet long this was quite a fish. It’s unfortunate that we still haven’t found a way to catch and release potential record breakers.

Update as of 1 Jul 06 - according to CNN, it turns out the fish was pregnant and nearly full term with 56 “pups” greatly adding to the weight.
