Google Earth meets the sea with EarthNC™ Marine Charts exclusively from We’ve been hard at work for over 6 months to provide an ‘Earth’ alternative for NOAA ENC® vector charts covering US coastal waters. When fully released, will offer the full catalog of 600+ NOAA vector charts. Each EarthNC™ chart features the same elements (buoys, channels, lights, etc.) found in the original ENC files – complete with a custom marine icon set for Google Earth.

Seeking Beta Testers

As part of the final development process, we’re seeking volunteers to participate in an initial beta test. UPDATE: We’ve now published the full set of EarthNC charts at our new website . You’ll need Google Earth 4, an internet connection, and a willingness to provide feedback.

If you’re not sure if you want to register, you can try out the West Bay to Santa Rosa Sound Chart without registration – if you like what you see, join the forum for access to the rest. You’ll need Google Earth 4 to view it. Depending on your web browser, make sure that the file either opens in Google Earth or is saved as a .KMZ file and not a .ZIP file.

EarthNC charts are designed to be the backdrop for a wide range of special interest nautical content to include boating events, fishing hot-spots, marine businesses, and much more. Our new Forum lays the groundwork for you to submit your favorite boating places and events – preferably as Google Earth files – for inclusion into the EarthNC chart lineup.
